Afonso Matias Pereira was born in the Algarve and grew up passionate about football. It was around the age of 14 that magic entered his life, and even he doesn't quite know how. He just remembers the curiosity: learning a few tricks to show his family and friends.

In high school, he changed schools. He knew a friend there. He was shy, embarrassed. Until that friend, perhaps without thinking too much, mentioned that Afonso liked doing magic and that he already used it to surprise his football friends. During school breaks, he started showing a few tricks. And suddenly, he was no longer just Afonso — he became the Magician.

The turning point came when he saw Luís de Matos live. Right there, he realized that his place was on a stage. What started as a hobby turned into a life goal. First came children's parties and holiday camps. Then hotels, restaurants, bars. Later, weddings, private parties, corporate events.Then the pandemic arrived. The world, as we knew it, stopped. But it was online that Afonso found a new way to share his passion. He created content, showed magic, and started seeing results he had never imagined. To support his dream, he opened his own business. And fortunately, the effort began to pay off.

Today, what was part-time has become full-time. Afonso the Magician lives off magic. And he continues to believe that every performance is an opportunity to turn an ordinary moment into something unforgettable.
